2016 - Punta Helbronner - Aiguille du Midi, AR
For almost 50 years I have been regularly visiting the Aosta Valley and Courmayeur. It is as natural for me to go back as when you go home. But habit leads to not seeing the changes. And as incredible as it may seem, the mountains also change. These are changes that are almost imperceptible in the short term, but which lately can also be noticed from year to year: less snow, a glacier that has retreated, less water in the streams.
And people too, more and more people, everywhere.
The camera makes you think because it forces you to "see" certain details and capture them.
The crossing with the cable car from Punta Helbronner to l'Aguille du Midi (Round trip) I did it a few times but this time I tried to "see" the change and witness it even if, not having photos of previous years, you will not be able to look for the differences that I have clear in my memory.
I promise I'll be back soon to do another report and compare it with this one.
But I assure you that unfortunately there is the difference.
